I personally ditched photoshop many years ago for Krita and never looked back. If its painting then Krita is definitely better. You don't mention what it is you actually do with photoshop. stuff like that, which you cannot get in a commercial software. On the fundraisers people can vote what feature will get a priority in implementation. You can contact developers, talk to them directly, share your opinions, you can submit bug reports and if it's a crash, it will get a priority and you'll see the progress on the bug report. Krita is developed both by paid developers and volunteers together (and the paid ones were always volunteers first).
